2024 Art in the Park Music
Avantide is a 4-piece American Alternative band from Bismarck, North Dakota. The group formed in 2022 from a collection of down-to-earth music fans who met in a record store and shared great affinity for a wide variety of music and sound. (See : The Black Keys, Pavement, Spoon, etc..) Avantide's unique brand of entertainment fuses catchy melodies, memorable lyrics, and tight instrumentals with diverse dynamics that will leave you feeling conceptually gratified.
Big Al’s Big Band is an 18-piece instrumental swing/jazz/dance band with a jazz vocalist. They have performed for concerts, weddings, dance events, and many other occasions for the past 42 years. In 1982, the band originally was called the Tuesday Night Jazz Band under the direction of Erv Ely and rehearsed at Bismarck Junior College. Three of the original band members (Rex, Mark and Steve) are still in the group. Once Erv retired, the band turned to Al Bertsch who invested in buying music, plays Tenor Sax for the band, provided a rehearsal space for the group, this brought about the bands current name and was directed by Rex Waddingham. After Covid, Big Al moved to an apartment and the band almost called it quits. Shawn Boehm decided to direct the band and found a place to rehearse at Mandan High School and is still going today.
The group performs mostly classic swing/dance music of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s with such titles as “In The Mood”, “Jersey Bounce”, and “As Time Goes By”. Big Al’s BB also plays a few waltzes and polkas for the german dancer in all of us, like “Beer Barrel Polka” and “Blue Skirt Waltz”. Standard vocal tunes are also provided by the band from “Fly Me To The Moon” to “Blue Skies” and “I Only Have Eyes For You” to “Gentle Rain”.
The Bluestems, a talented family band from Elgin, North Dakota, have captivated audiences at festivals and fairs across North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Montana. Their instrumental prowess and musical maturity amaze listeners wherever they perform!
The current lineup includes:● Mya: Fiddle and lead vocals● Mercedes: Guitar and mandolin● Malachi: Banjo and harmony vocals● Micah: Bass
Their little sister, Molly, sometimes joins them on dobro. The youngest sibling, Maggie, is learning piano and exploring her favorite bluegrass instrument.
When they aren't performing, the Bluestems are busy with various activities on their family ranch. They enjoy participating in sports, fishing, riding horses, riding dirt bikes, and spending time with friends.

Hello! We are Daniel and the Housekeys, a four-part alternative rock band from Bismarck, North Dakota. Brought together in 2023 by our mutual love of all things music, we have since poured our time and energy into exploring the world of rock music, which in turn lead us to begin crafting some of our own original pieces. Overall, if the name didn’t already give it away, we don’t take ourselves too seriously—we just love to enjoy the beauty of creating and performing music. It is a privilege to get to contribute in some small way to the vast, magical world of music that brought us together in the first place. Slow Burn is the newest dynamic duo in the Bismarck/ Mandan area. Vocalist Sommer Engelman and acoustic guitarist Chris McCrory produce an extensive variety of song mashups consisting of mixed genres.
Tumbleweed Nectar is a band that plays good old fashioned rock n roll and proudly hails from Bismarck, ND. Nuff said!!!
